Bali Sama Sama Upcycled Blown-Glassware

Whether for beverages or as unique vases, each Bali Sama Sama water jug and tumbler is made from upcycled glass, collected from recycling centres around the island then packaged and delivered to its foundry in Gianyar.

Collected glass is melted in furnaces that burn at 2,000 degrees Celsius before the molten glass is collected on a glass-blowing rod for formation into our exclusive glassware range. Glassblowers working with ancient techniques breathe life into the glass, intermittently returning it to the furnace in order to work with the material in a molten form. Colouring is then added through the process until the glass blower is satisfied with the shape and quality. Handles are gently attached using a separate strand of glass before the entire piece is placed in a slow-cooling oven to strengthen into its final form.

The result is glassware of a very high quality made with upcycled materials and vibrant colour, handcrafted on the island of Bali. Please note that all glassware is 100% handmade, therefore, patterns and sizes will not be uniformed or exactly the same.

The water jug has a diameter of approximately 8-10cm and height of 18-20cm, while the glass tumblers are about D8cm x H8cm.

They are available in three different patterns:

1) Awan – White Cloudy Scape
2) Laut – Blue Sea Scape
3) Ombak – Blue and White Waves
