What are Phalaenopsis Orchids?
Phalaenopsis, also called 'Moth Orchids' or ‘Phals’, are among the most popular orchids sold as potted plants. They are also often used as cut flowers in an arrangement. Since they are long lasting, blooms open quickly, do not fade, and do not bruise nor spot easily, it is easy to see why they are a favourite among flower lovers. Though Phals are native to many Asian countries, they are found primarily in Indonesia and the Philippines. Blooms should be kept away from direct sunlight and heat sources. They will last longer at cooler room temperatures, but will suffer where there are cold drafts.
